Written by Karen Gibbs

Looking for an easy healthy breakfast, snack or dessert idea? This one is so easy, even the kids can make it. The hero of the dish is the banana. Bananas are a brilliant source of nutrition. Did you know -: The riper a banana, the quicker it is digested and converted to muscle fuel.  Scientific research papers confirm that bananas have significant antioxidant power. One study showed that eating bananas reduced the ability of the bad cholesterol in the blood to be damaging. The banana is the best fruit source of vitamin B6 and  is also a great source of vitamin C, along with small amounts of  the B group vitamins folate, niacin, riboflavin and pantothenic acid. Banana’s are a good fruit choice for people with diabetes as they have a low glycaemic index. Bananas contain lectins, which have been strongly linked to a reduction in the risk of cancer and potentially helpful in the treatment of cancer. This unique tropical fruit is also extremely high in potassium and salt-free, making it perfect to beat blood pressure.
